Supports staff Accountants with data entry, reporting, and clerical functions of the department including filing, scanning documents and ordering supplies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Performs data entry of required information and some accounting tasks such as reconcile petty cash, AP data entry, A/R data entry and ad hoc reports as necessary.
Handles document management for the department to include maintaining paper and electronic files.
Office administration such as ordering office and copier supplies and ensures we maintain an adequate level of certain items, like copier toner, paper, and items essential for the department.
Participates in annual 1099 mailings.
Helps in preparing weekly accounts payable checks for mailing.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and five years related accounting experience. Completion of technical school programs in business is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel and exposure to accounting software.
