    Summary 
    Performs reservoir modeling, monitoring, surveillance and analysis activities, and is responsible for mentoring lower-level engineers and interaction, coordination, and the possible leading of multi-discipline and/or inter-group work activities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Performs economic evaluations of potential development projects such as, but not limited to drilling opportunities, workovers, facilities and field expansions, etc. Provides valuation of acquisition and divestment acreage and/or other company interests will also be performed. Economic analysis will typically include conventional cash flow analysis with forecasting of production rates, acquiring pertinent price forecasts, capital investments, and operation costs from respective groups, and assuring the correct assumptions regarding timing, taxes, economic limit, etc.

    Identifies, scopes, plans, secures approval, executes and assures projects that capture long-term stakeholder value, such as different technologies to improve well/field/reservoir performance, new software applications, continuous improvement in existing processes, etc.

    Collaborates with team members inside and outside of department to review data and suggest development plans to maximize value.

    Provides support to the department through reserve stewardship, bank/credit facility support, forecasting, budgeting, acquisition/divestment, and business/operations/financial analysis.

    Provides mentoring and coaching to more junior engineers, other disciplines, and management.

    Education and/or Experience                               
    Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; a minimum of seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language Skills                               
    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    Mathematical Skills                               
    Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.  Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

    Reasoning Ability                               
    Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.  Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.  Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

    Computer Skills                               
    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate to advanced skills of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

    Ability to apply learnings & ideas to a given problem.
    Ability and willingness to learn new software.

    Other Qualifications                               
    In depth knowledge of conventional reservoir modeling and analysis is required; experience in unconventional reservoir a plus.                 
    Willingness to travel to the field up to 10% of the time.
    Experience with IHS RTA Analysis, Aries, Drilling Info, Spotfire, and Access preferred.
