  • Overview

    Responsible for providing technical support for ongoing field development within South Texas assets for Production and Reservoir departments. This position will report to the Production Manager.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


    • Provides Production Engineering support as necessary, including Production Variance Reporting, New Well Analysis, production data quality assurance, compression surveillance, Frac Hit Mitigation analysis, etc.
    • Provides Production/Reservoir Engineering software support as necessary (IHS Harmony, WellFlo, OFM, Enertia, ArcGIS, DI/ IHS, etc.)
    • Conducts engineering projects, evaluations, and analysis as directed by engineering staff, including new-well and completion trial “Look-Backs”, production surveillance, etc.
    • Manages, maintains, and continuously improves the New-Well database
    • Updates, maintains, and creates new wells in Reservoir Engineering Decline Analysis workbooks
    • Provides Microsoft software support as necessary for engineering activities
    • Works with other disciplines such as Completions, Drilling, Geology & Geophysics, Field Operations, Pipeline/ MidStream/ Marketing, Business Analysis, Management, etc.
    • Travels as necessary to field locations in support of engineering activities
    • Serves as backup administrator for Peloton Wellview and Siteview data entry. Builds custom templates and reports for production management.  Maintains facility equipment inventory.
    • Interacts positively with office and field personnel in a manner that creates an atmosphere of creativity, cooperation and attention to the safety of all personnel, the environment and Company assets. Liaise with engineers, operations, construction, consultants, vendors, and other disciplines.

    Education and/or Experience                                                  

    Minimum Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent.


    Language Skills                                                              

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


    Mathematical Skills                                                     

    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


    Reasoning Ability                                                          

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


    Computer Skills                                                             

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, Spotfire, IHS Harmony, Cygnet or other SCADA programs, OFM or similar production monitoring software.  Experience with Peloton products Wellview and Siteview is preferred.



    Bachelor Degree and minimum 2 years as Engineering Technician in any field


    Minimum 5 years of experience as engineering Technician

    Preferred: Bachelor (BS) in Computer Science/Engineering


    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    Valid driver’s license.
