Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Oversees accounting procedures, internal controls (implementing, monitoring, enhancing), and database management.
Maintains all business insurance policies.
Oversees banking accounts and relations.
Audits work flow to assure accounting transactions are appropriately authorized.
Substantiates expenditures and expense reports.
Manages system software applications.
Develops and maintains operational procedures and documentation of data flow.
Maintains, analyzes and summarizes general ledger accounts.
Produces accurate and timely financial statements, financial, statistical and ad hoc reports.
Directs the budgeting process.
Manages supervisors, and other non-supervisory direct reports. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Master's degree in Accounting required and a minimum of ten years of finance and public accounting experience, including five years in tax compliance and consulting, and three years in a financial management position with a Private Family Office.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret accounting, financial and some technical information and documents, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical skills commensurate with a minimum of fifteen years of advanced taxation, general ledger accounting and financial reporting experience, including an overall understanding of complex financial calculations.
Analytical and strategic abilities to define problems and problem elements, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid and relevant conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must have a valid Texas driver’s license.
MASS 90/200 (now Sage 100), Enertia Accounting software, or equivalent oil and gas ERP experience required. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word required.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of information obtained throughout the course performance of duties.
Strong understanding of tax compliance issues resulting from related party entities.
Understanding of procurement practices, policies and procedures.
Private Family Office industry experience preferred.
Experience with Job Cost, PO modules a plus.
Experience with the FFA regulatory and taxation issues involved in the ownership and usage of private aircraft.
Experience accounting for investments, including preparation of tax and book basis schedules.
International experience a plus.
