  • Overview


    Installs, repairs, maintains, modifies, and troubleshoots security equipment used by company staff and visitors at various locations and developmental and production of technical components, parts, equipment, and systems by performing the following duties.



    • Provides technical support, maintenance and inventory control of company assets.
    • Diagnoses defective or failed equipment and identifies resolution options.
    • Maintains all security systems including access control, alarms, cameras, and monitors.
    • Assists in installation of audiovisual media when necessary.
    • Maintains an inventory of security assets by location to include equipment, spare parts, and firmware updates.
    • Collaborates with multiple departments for use of security assets.
    • Monitors Help Desk ticketing system for security issues.
    • Maintains security cameras, cleaning periodically, repairing and replacing as required.  Operates personnel lift to access cameras mounted on exterior walls of buildings.  Wipes camera lenses and housing to remove dust and debris.  Verifies operating condition.  Examines cameras and diagnoses malfunctions to determine if repair is feasible or replacement is warranted.  Mounts and dismounts cameras, using hand and power tools, to repair or replace.

    Education and/or Experience                                                  

    Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    Language Skills                                                              

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


    Mathematical Skills                                                     

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


    Reasoning Ability                                                          

    Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.  Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.  Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.


    Computer Skills                                                             

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet Explorer, FireFox, Internet software and Microsoft Word and Excel.


    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    Licensed Texas Alarm/Access control installer is preferred.

    A/V certification is preferred.
