  • Overview

    Compiles, processes and maintains accounts payable transactions and records while following accounting procedures and internal controls.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
     

    Assists in mail duties, to include sorting, preparing, distributing, and post office runs.

    Receives invoices through 3rd party portal and in-house email.

    Scans and attaches multiple images, including invoices, to appropriate electronic files.

    Creates invoice headers, codes and processes invoices for workflow approval.

    Reconciles vendor statements.

    Interacts with vendors to address payment issues.

    Prepares invoices for payment and filing.

    Processes contract labor invoices.

    Prepares and submits check requests.

    Reconciles invoices and purchase orders.

    Assists with mailings.

    Performs receptionist duties as needed.

    Assists supervisor with other duties as required.

    Education and/or Experience                                                     
    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and zero to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
     
    Language Skills                                                                 
    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
     
    Mathematical Skills                                                        
    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
     
    Reasoning Ability                                                            
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
     
    Computer Skills                                                                
    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook.  Familiarity with Enertia is a plus.
