    Creates, maintains and integrates spatial and non-spatial data within a geospatial model.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


    Performs third-party oil/gas permit scouting and production data queries from online data clearinghouses for integration into the GIS.

    Creates, maintains and analyzes spatial data and non-spatial attributes of company-related and third party data within a GIS for integration on maps and use in information products.

    Interprets Surveyor’s Metes and Bounds descriptions for construction of surface and lease-related polygons.

    Uses of a variety of geo-processing operations performed on spatial data for visualization on maps.

    Manipulates, converts and integrates company-related and third-party tabular scheduling data into a geodatabase on a daily basis.

    Interacts with company team members and third parties to fulfill requests for GIS problem solving and creation of maps and information products.

    Publishes spatial data to online map service on a daily basis.

    Education and/or Experience                      
    Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; minimum one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language Skills                      
    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.  Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.  Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.  Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

    Mathematical Skills                      
    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    Reasoning Ability                      
    Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.  Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.  Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

    Computer Skills                      
    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Esri ArcMap, ArcGIS Online, SQL, QGIS, AutoCAD, SketchUp, LeadNav and Google Earth.
    Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

    Other Skills and Abilities                      
    Ability to interpret Surveyor's Metes and Bounds descriptions.
    Ability to read/write Spanish language is preferred. 
    Ability to geo-reference raw imagery. 
    Strong interpersonal skills needed for establishing and maintaining working relationships with stakeholders requesting maps and information products.
