  • Overview

    The Revenue Accountant will be responsible for managing and recording oil and gas sales, prepares various regulatory reports in a timely and accurate manner, performs sales variance analysis, and reconciles account receivables and general ledger balances.  The selected Accountant will be recording oil and gas revenue transactions in an Enertia software application environment.


    • Process all revenue transactions in the Production Accounting System (PAS) and oversee the distribution of checks and statements to working interest owners and royalty owners on a monthly basis
    • Work closely with the Land Department on new well set-up and Division of Interest (DOI) maintenance. Also, handle all check cancellations, escrow release and reconciliation, and DOI amendments.
    • Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal departments (Gas Marketing, Operations, Land and Finance) and external stakeholders (Landowners and JV Partners)
    • Book revenue for assigned wells (gas, NGL’s, condensate  and oil) Compare oil price received to contract amount
    • Reconcile transportation amounts booked in Revenue to amounts billed by Production Accounting
    • Process PPA’s resulting from severance tax rate changes
    • Respond to owner inquiries
    • Perform dual accounting comparisons on wells where leases require royalty owners to be
      paid the higher of 2 or 3 calculations
    • Foreach well reconcile transportation charged to the well to the route well took that month
    • Ensure royalty settlement is in accordance with lease terms
    • Confirmthat trans  rate charged agrees to ransportation  contract or Aid to Construct Agreement
    • Conductvariance analysis  of this month’s volumes vs. previous month and explain difference
    • Comparerevenue  bookings to production system sales  volumes to ensure revenue
      disbursed on all well showing sales volumes
    • Perform variance trending and support Operations in review of property results vs. estimates and budget
    • Process  revenue check runs (for partners and other owners)
    • Prepare State Land Office filings




    • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
    • A minimum of 2 years of General Accounting experience required


    • A minimum of 2 years of Revenue Accounting preferred

    Other Requirements:

    • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and Word
    • Experience working with an ERP system
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to execute manual detailed tasks.
    • Enter and retrieve data from computer
    • Excellent customer service skills
