  • Overview

    Analyzes leases, contracts, title opinions and other legal documentation to determine company ownership and obligations in leases, contracts and wells.  Maintains a working knowledge of monthly lease and contract obligations to ensure timely and accurate payments of rentals, shut-in payments and minimum royalties due.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

     

    Department Support: Analyzes and interprets various forms of title, lease and contract documentation to summarize company ownership and obligations.  Communicates with oil and gas operators regarding well activity.

     

    Data Management:  Sets up new leases and contracts in Enertia Land System.  Makes ownership changes and cleans up lease records along with general lease records maintenance in Enertia Land System.  Researches well activity and coordinates with Landmen to ensure proper lease maintenance and timely payment of obligations and updates lease records in Enertia Land System accordingly.

     

    Correspondence:  Prepares correspondence to include cover letters, inquiries and other requests.

     

    Reporting:  Prepares all reports in Enertia Land System for land department critical dates meeting.

     

    Recordkeeping: Maintains department Title Library.

    Education and/or Experience                                                  

    Associate’s degree and a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Language Skills                                                              

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

     

    Mathematical Skills                                                     

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

     

    Reasoning Ability                                                          

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

     

    Computer Skills                                                             

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.

    Experience with Enertia Land System or other land system database
