Summary: Assists Mudlogging crew by safely and continuously collecting samples for delivery to laboratory analysis by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Sample Collection: Collects well cutting samples according to drilling plan. Prepares the well cutting sample trays for microscopic examination.
Sample Labeling: Labels and catalogues sample containers with identifying data, location of sample, and time collected.
Work Area Maintenance: Maintains a clean and safe working area inside and outside of the unit.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one -on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply , and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
