Overview

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in pipeyard movement and material handling. Accounts for all material movement, receiving of trucks, loading out of trucks and inspecting material.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 
Measures and inspects incoming pipe.

 
 

Supervises the loading, unloading of trucks as well as the safe stocking of materials.

 
 

Moves and reports appropriate locations of material in the pipeyard.

 
 

Manages and maintains proper, clean and safe pipeyard operations.
 
Supervisory Responsibilities                                                      
Directly supervises one employee in the Tubular Inventory department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience                                                     
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Language Skills                                                                 
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
 
Mathematical Skills                                                        
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
 
Reasoning Ability                                                            
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
 
Computer Skills                                                                
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.
 
Other Qualifications                                                      
Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
