Manages Colombia geoscience databases, file systems and record archives and anticipate needs of Geology team members in their use.  Controls flow of geoscience data to other departments.  Assesses current interdepartmental communications and makes appropriate modifications as necessary.   


  • Leads data quality control processes to ensure consistency of data between applications employed by Geology department. Conducts data analysis to determine owners of data within the various applications.  Controls the distribution of geoscience data between the departments.
  • Interfaces with Geology team members, IT department and application vendors to resolve user and data issues, optimize workflows, manage provision of IT services and improve integration with third party software packages. Acts on behalf of application users to organize training initiatives with application vendors.  Monitors and recommends new technologies as they become available by application vendors.
  • Manages new well proposals, authority for expenditures and report revisions within enterprise well information systems. Evaluates current forms used to communicate geological and well data with team members in other departments.   Works collaboratively with other departments to determine the suitability of forms.  Revises forms to reflect changes in business requirements.            
  • Determines cross-departmental business-data requirements for revision/implementation of reporting and interface systems; and development of data management workflow. Communicates with various departments to define, document, implement and enforce policies, procedures and standards for data management, data loading, capacity management and quality assurance.  Collaborates with IT to maintain security restrictions.



  • Geology/IT Bachelor Degree.


  • 1-3 years of data management experience (preferred)


Other Requirements

  • High detail orientation, willing to do routine type jobs.
  • Bilingual, Spanish – English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers.
  • Familiarity with seismic and well data technology, operations, and data types.
  • Familiar with Kingdoom suite, Geographix, Petrel, Techlog software packages.

  • Frequently required to sit.
  • Occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Work Environment  

  • Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Noise level typically is moderate.


Pay Plan

Salary + performance-based bonus.
