Overview

Summary

Under limited supervision and direction, responsible for many aspects of the company’s information technology infrastructure and supporting the company’s internal resources that rely upon that infrastructure.  The position is a generalist focusing on complex IT infrastructure duties and to a lesser extent end-user support. 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

End User Support:  Provides end-user support using the ticketing system to track and document requests.  Sets up and installs PCs and desk telephones for new hires. Deploys images to PCs.

 

Active Directory Management:  Creates Active Directory and email accounts for team members. Creates complex AD security groups.  Adds and deletes users to and from Active Directory security groups.

 

Installation and Troubleshooting:  Performs software and computer hardware installation including Coax/Cat 5/6 cabling. Troubleshoots video conference system. Troubleshoots computer hardware and performs basic repairs. Installs and sets up Direct TV.

 

Network and System Administration:  Manages system and data backups and restores. Performs Exchange, SQL, VM ware, Citrix/TS, SAN, and security suite administration.  Creates complex automation scripts using Power shell. Creates PC images.  Creates software deployment packages.  Performs complex system administration and server builds in a physical and virtual environment. 

Network Administration:  Performs network administration – LAN, WAN and WLAN.

 

Audio and Visual Configuration:  Configures desk phones. Performs video conference configuration.

Education and/or Experience                                                  

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; Bachelor’s Degree preferred; seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Skills                                                              

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Mathematical Skills                                                     

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability                                                          

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills                                                             

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; have advanced MS Server, SQL, Exchange administration knowledge; advanced VMware administration knowledge; and advanced Citrix/Terminal Server administration knowledge.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

MCSE Certification.

VMware VCP.
