Prepares financial analysis and statement of operations with supporting schedules for the guidance of management


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Assists in documenting and maintaining organization's financial policies and procedures, accounting practices, fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports.  Assists in developing and documenting general accounting, property accounting, job costing, insurance and budgetary controls for the various entities within the organization.


Prepares standalone and consolidated financial statements for internal and external users including the balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flows.


Collects and analyzes financial data, ensuring that all reporting is in compliance with GAAP reporting guidelines. Researches accounting rules and regulations and makes recommendations regarding company policy.


Analyzes monthly and quarterly comparative reports, providing narrative of operational activities that lead to differences between forecasted amounts and actuals. Prepares ad hoc reports and management reporting analysis as required.  Prepares intercompany reconciliation schedules and elimination entries on a monthly basis as necessary to prepare internal comparative financials for review by senior management.


Works closely with Corporate Controller to ensure that all necessary closing entries are made and the monthly and annual closing schedule is adhered to.  Assists external auditors as needed.

Education and/or Experience                                                  

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and a minimum of five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Language Skills                                                              

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret accounting, financial and some technical information and documents. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Mathematical Skills                                                     

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


Reasoning Ability                                                          

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


Computer Skills                                                             

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.  Systems and computer skills including MASS 90/200 (now Sage 100), Enertia Accounting software, spreadsheet software and additional systems knowledge and proficiency as required.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.

Valid driver's license.

Ability to work effectively with others to achieve personal, department and company goals.


Other Qualifications                                                    

Oil and Gas upstream accounting experience preferred.

Construction industry experience preferred.

Experience with Job Cost, PO modules.

International experiences a plus
