Overview

Summary:

Handles and operates equipment for the efficient transfer of water for hydraulic fracturing and drilling operations. Monitors and troubleshoots various types of equipment including High-Rate Transfer pumps, poly pumps, lay flat hose, water manifolds, road crossings, fittings, meters and coiled polyline.  Assures adherence to safe work practices, documents and reports work progress and issues.

 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Maintains assigned equipment including, trucks, trailers, skid steers, pumps, pipe, road crossings, fittings, hoses, air compressor, water manifolds, tools, uniforms, etc. Performs daily inspections to ensure compliance with operational and safety requirements and complete a JSA (Job Safety Analysis) for each task. Reports all operational deficiencies or damages to equipment to supervisor.

 

Participates in rigging up and rigging down equipment at assigned locations. Checks and inspects hose connections to ensure there are no leaks in water transfer lines, pumps and manifolds. Operates skid steers, air compressors and power tools in a safe and efficient manner. 

 

Controls and monitors pumps used in the transfer of water from water pits and stock tanks to fracturing or drilling operations. Operates equipment as trained to maintain equipment as best as possible and provide the needed water rate (BPM) to the fracturing/drilling operations.

 

Refuels equipment as needed during daily operations. Document fuel usage on Fuel Tracking Log and submit to supervisor at end of shift.

 

Completes pre/post job inspections of equipment and prepares equipment for next day use.

 

Tracks water usage for all jobs on Frac Daily Log and submits to supervisors at the end of shift.

 

Provides assistance to mechanic when needed. 

 

Operates a company vehicle.

 

Follows direction of Leads and ultimately, Field Supervisors.

Education and/or Experience                                                  

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six (6) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Skills                                                              

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate orally. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Skills                                                     

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability                                                          

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
