Overview

Summary

The Wireline Field Engineer is responsible for the safety and quality of operations by applying and adhering to process and safety procedures for the wireline equipment, tools, and personnel.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assist in the training of Trainee Operators, Operators, and Lead Operators. Perform all duties in compliance with Customer and Company policies and procedures and applicable regulations. 

 

Coordinates all crew responsibilities with crew members.  Ensures crew members are where they need to be when they need to be there, sending equipment to/from location, ensuring all rig up/rig down tasks are staffed appropriately and are being done up to the standard and guidelines, and all equipment is being properly maintained and operated.

 

Conducts pre-job safety meeting (PJSM) prior to each shift that covers key points in the current operation as well as potential hazards and pertinent information. Also ensures all job-specific JSAs are being performed prior to the start of each task.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises 3-4 employees in their immediate crew with the Wireline Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum seven years related experience.                                                                 

Language Skills                                                              

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

Mathematical Skills                                                     

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability                                                          

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Computer Skills                                                             

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of email and Excel.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

A valid Class C driver’s license is required.

Motor vehicle record (MVR) reflecting no convictions for recurring or serious violations or accidents.

Supervisor certification is preferred.
