Overview

Supervises, directs, and coordinates operations and personnel (LEG workover employees or third-party contractors) related to Intervention Team workover rig activities. Primary responsibilities include directing the safe and efficient execution of workover operations, tracking operational costs and well information, training workover personnel, and ensuring that all safety, regulatory, environmental, and professional standards are met in accordance with company policies and procedures. 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

 

Conducts pre-job safety meeting (PJSM) with team members prior to each shift, covering key points in the current operation as well as potential hazards and pertinent information. Also ensures all job specific JSAs, both LEG and any third party, are being performed prior to the start of each task and recorded/uploaded into Teams daily. 

 

Ensures that workover operations are executed in a safe and efficient manner to maximize job quality and performance (proactively looks at operational needs or potential issues and plans ahead to minimize NPT) 

 

Generates a daily job log documenting all well-work operations including, but not limited to, accurate daily operation steps, third-party vendor operations, all daily costs, and any other related well information (Workover BHA, pumping operations, tubing tally/schematic, etc.). 

 

Keeps accurate records of all material used/delivered in the operation, including casing/tubing, pup joints, rods, and fluid/chemical volumes, and any materials returned and uploads information into Teams as part of EOD report.  

 

Regularly collaborates/communicates with Interventions Manager and other Interventions Field Supervisors, reviewing operational needs and priorities to determine the most efficient/effective path to deliver Intervention Team responsibilities.  

 

Regularly collaborates/communicates with Production Team, through a variety of methods, providing updates on WO operations, well conditions, issues encountered during operations, and recommendations on how to address well issues and equipment/tools to be used. 

 

Directs/assigns workover operational responsibilities to team members. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring team members are where they need to be when they need to be there, sending equipment to/from location, ensuring all rig up/rig down tasks are staffed appropriately and are being done up to the standard and guidelines, and all equipment is being properly maintained and operated.  

 

Reviews workover procedures provided by Production Team and provides feedback on potential issues and recommendations to mitigate risk and improve execution. 

 

Inspects 3rd party equipment and ensures proper documentation and certifications are provided before equipment is used in operations. 

 

Operates equipment including but not limited to company light-duty vehicle, man lift, fork-lift, pumps, tanks, and hydraulic pipe handler if needed. 

Directs workover team to ensure proper maintenance and general upkeep of the work location, designated units, and all support equipment. Ensures team monitors, inspects, and adjusts all major equipment during operations to ensure adequate operation. Coordinates with Maintenance Team on equipment PMs and any spot maintenance through EMaint system.  

Conducts historical well and workover operation reviews, documents best practices and lessons learned, and provides recommendations to mitigate risks and improve execution of future workover operations. 

 

Coaches team members on various tasks and provides development opportunities to learn/improve skills related to workover operations. Provides corrective actions/discipline if team members are repeatedly falling short of supervisor’s expectations. 

 

Conducts individual employee and team performance appraisals and feedback sessions 

 

CDL endorsement must be obtained as a requirement.  Employee will ensure that all applicable state/federal guidelines, rules and regulations that apply under (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations Part 383) will be carried out in accordance with the law. 

Supervisory Responsibilities 

Directly supervises 4-5 employees in their immediate team with the Workover Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience                    

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum seven years related experience. 

 

Language Skills                    

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in clear language. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of hiring organization.  

 

Mathematical Skills                    

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. 

 

Reasoning Ability                    

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. 

 

Computer Skills                    

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Experience with WellView Allez is preferred but not required. Candidates should be able to craft clear and concise emails and messages 

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations  

A valid Class A or B driver’s license is required. 

A valid DOT medical examiner’s certificate (Medical Card) is required. 

Motor vehicle record (MVR) reflecting no convictions for recurring or serious violations or accidents. 

Well Control Certification is required. 

 

Other Skills and Abilities                    

Strong organizational and time management skills. 

Strong verbal communication skills. 

Effective working both individually and as part of a team.
